Therapy

Psychotherapy can help you step off the treadmill of unresolvable conflicts and intrusive thoughts and feelings. I’m a clinical psychologist, practicing in Toronto, and I invite you to share emotional difficulties that may stem from traumatic experiences, including early abuse and neglect, addictive problems that are too difficult to resolve on your own, and relationship or workplace hardships.

My goal as your therapist is to listen carefully, help you make sense of your struggles with depression, anxiety and/or addiction, and replace self-blame with self-care. I follow the “Internal Family Systems” (IFS) model — not family therapy but a method for welcoming and soothing the family of fears and needs we tend to carry around inside. I sometimes combine psychotherapeutic methods with meditation techniques related to mindfulness, Buddhist practice and self-compassion.

I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I offer in-person therapy in midtown Toronto as well as “virtual” sessions. My rates are standard for registered psychologists in Ontario ($250/hour), but I offer a sliding scale for those with financial limitations and lacking usable benefits or insurance coverage.
